diagnoses and investigation processes. Each student examines for himself material made available from the Hospital, and leaves with a knowledge of elementary bacteriological diagnosis combined with an appreciation of the mechanism of infection and immunity, spread of infection, prophylaxis and specific treatment.

17. Until 1928 the routine Bacteriology of the Hospitals was carried out in the College. It was then transferred to the Hospital Pathological Laboratories. Although specimens are obtained for demonstration purposes in the Bacteriological department, a large amount of material useful for teaching is not readily available. If full use is to be made of the Department for the instruction of students, the question of allocating all routine bacteriological examinations from the teaching beds of the Clinical Professors should be considered.

The Anatomy department seems fated to occupy buildings which have become unsuitable for other departments, and this time, the project is carried out, there will be added the disadvantage of locating the department in two buildings. It is to be hoped that this is not a permanent arrangement, that better counsels will prevail, and that a new building will shortly be erected wherein a modern department can be housed.
